These half day trips are scheduled throughout each season on most weekends and selected weekdays. Call ahead for availability and condtions. Price are subject to change.
Trips include all equipment, guide, instruction and limited transportation.
A Child is considered 12 and under.
Fishing Trips: A New York State Fishing License is required for ages 16 and over.
2-person minimum on most trips. Trips may be booked privately with 4 or more people and can be extended to a full day.

SCHEDULED MULTI DAY ADVENTURES
Backcountry Adventure Ski Weekend
Join us for a memorable guided backcountry skiing adventure. We will ski
the backcountry trails in the High Peaks Wilderness area located in the
heart of the Adirondack Mountains. Our adventure will begin with a warm up
on the "Tele Hill" at the ADK Loj. There we will brush up on our downhill
and uphill skills, including the telemark turn. Next we will ski into
scenic and historical Marcy Dam, which was built over 100 years ago during
the logging era. Taking a short break there to take in the scenic views and
hot drinks. From the Dam, the next mile will be a gradual climb to
Avalanche Camps. The next mile from the Avalanche Camps, the climb becomes
steeper as it ascends a couple of pitches with gentler grades in-between to
Avalanche Pass. At the Pass will stop for lunch then gear up for the 2
mile down hill descent then back to the Loj to finish our 10 mile journey.
Then return to the luxurious Mirror Lake Inn for dinner by a crackling fire
sharing the day's experiences with everyone. Participants should be in good
physical condition, have intermediate skiing skills and have the proper
equipment, skis and clothing.

Winter Outdoor Survival Adventure
Spend the day learning how to survive in a winter environment. Ever
wondered how to build a shelter in the snow, build a fire with out matches,
find safe drinking water and identify wild edibles? You will learn all
these skills as well as modern techniques in mountain travel on snow shoes,
map and compass navigation, first aid and rescue skills. Our classroom is
in a winter wilderness setting by day and the luxurious Mirror Lake Inn by
night. Also learn about the history of the Adirondacks, the geology, the
wildlife and how to track them. Listen to Native American stories as told
in the oral tradition by a crackling campfire. This will be truly a
unique, informative and interactive experience you will not forget!

Summer Survivor Weekend
Spend the day learning how to survive in a primitive environment. Ever
wondered how to build a shelter in the wilderness, build a fire with out
matches, find safe drinking water and identify wild edibles. You will learn
all these skills as well as , map and compass navigation, first aid and
rescue skills. Our class room will be in a wilderness setting by day and
the luxurious Mirror Lake Inn by night. Also learn about the history of the
Adirondacks, the geology, the wildlife and how to track them. Listen to
Native American stories as told in the oral tradition by a crackling fire.
This will truly be a unique, informative and hands on experience you will
not forget !

Fly Fishing Weekend
Spend the day on the legendary West Branch of the Au Sable River located in
the heart of the beautiful Adirondack Mountains. This ancient waterway
formed by glaciers thousands of years ago tumbles and flows through one of
the most pristine and scenic regions in the East. Explore the miles of
pocket water, deep pools and long channels angling for browns and rainbows.
Five miles of the Ausable are dedicated as a year-round catch and release
artificial-only trophy section. The Au Sable is also famous for its
abundant hatches of Mayflies, Caddis and Stone flies. The diversity of the
West Brach and the unique opportunities the River provides, keeps anglers
coming back year after year.

days and two nights using nature as their outdoor classroom. Under the
instruction of Ndakinna Director James Bruchac and Gary Marchuk Director
Bear Cub Adventure Tours participants will learn such key wilderness skills
as how to build an emergency shelter, build a fire with out matches, find
safe drinking water, identify wild edibles, track local animal inhabitants,
how to navigate with or without map and compass, as well as first aid and
basic rescue skills. With plenty of free time to take in the wonders of
nature, participants will Also learn about the history of the Adirondacks
and enjoy Native American legends around the glow of a campfire.
